iPhone 15 Rumors and Expectations: A Look into Apple's iPhone 15 Lineup | iPhone 15 color

Apple released the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models in September 2022, and rumors about the upcoming iPhone 15 have been circulating for some time. The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to include four models in the same sizes as the iPhone 14, including the standard iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus. The other two models will be higher-end, more expensive "Pro" models. The best features will be reserved for the Pro models to make the extra cost worth it, as with the iPhone 14 lineup. The iPhone 15 will reportedly feature a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, and Dynamic Island, which will replace the notch that Apple has used for its flagship iPhones since the iPhone X. The new devices are expected to use Qualcomm modem chips, as Apple's own modem chips are not yet ready. The standard iPhone 15 models will get an upgrade to the A16 chip in the iPhone 14 Pro models, while the iPhone 15 Pro models will use faster and more efficient 3-nanometer A17 chips. Pricing for the iPhone 15 models is expected to be the same as the iPhone 14 models, with the standard entry-level 6.1-inch device starting at $799 and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus starting at $899.

There are no significant design changes planned for the iPhone 15 models, so Apple will offer the same four models as the iPhone 14. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, and the transition from the notch to the Dynamic Island. The Dynamic Island is expected to have an updated design with an integrated proximity sensor, which will not result in notable changes to the look or functionality of the Dynamic Island. OLED display driver chips that are more power-efficient and manufactured on a 28nm process will be present in all iPhone 15 models, which could ultimately lead to improved battery life. However, the standard iPhone 15 models will not include ProMotion or always-on display technology, which will be exclusive to the Pro models. The iPhone 15 models could be available in dark pink and light blue color options.

The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to feature some exclusive design changes, including a thinner, more curved bezel and titanium frames, making them more expensive. Apple will adopt solid-state volume and power buttons that would replace the current physical buttons. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup is expected to feature more curved front glass that better disappears into the frame.
